The volcano results:
On February 5th, 2001 we did a science investigation. We were seeing if soda, fruit juice, vinegar and some other household objects were acids or bases. Then we predicted what would happen if we used some chemicals to erupt our volcanoes. We used vinegar and baking soda. Two of the kids(Alexander &Jamie) did the volcano challenge. Instead of building a whole volcano they built half of a volcano to see the differences.

All the kids had a “BLAST!!” At first when you poured in the baking powder at the bottom, and then added the vinegar, it bubbled over.  And then at the end of the big part, some kids put their noses close to where it had erupted, and could feel the light mist of the ending process!
What we really learned is that a solid like baking soda can be mixed with a liquid such as vinegar and the mixture forms a gas.

Everyone LOVED this experiment!
