Herbert S. Wilf
Professor Wilf
is Thomas A. Scott Professor of Mathematics
at the University of Pennsylvania.
Professor Wilf earned his Ph.D. from Columbia University. He has
authored and coauthored over 150 research papers and a number of books, in which many are
available for download. He has supervised over 25 Ph.D. students.
Professor Wilf received a number of awards including the Deborah and Franklin Tepper Haimo
Award for Distinguished College or University Teaching of
Mathematics from the Mathematical Association of America in 1996,
the Leroy P. Steele Prize of the American Mathematical Society, for Seminal Contribution to
Research (jointly with Doron Zeilberger) in 1998, and
the Euler Medal of the Institute for Combinatorics and its Applications (Canada) in 2004.
