Dr. Hongwei Qu joined the faculty of Oakland University as an Assistant Professor in August 2006 after he had obtained his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida. In his graduate study at the Interdisciplianry Microsystems Group at UF (IMG), his research was focused on CMOS-MEMS inertial sensors and optical MEMS devices. Prior to his graduate study at UF, Dr. Qu had received his M.S. degree from Physics Department, Florida International University (FIU) in 2002. His thesis work was on electrical properties of ferroelectric thin films. Dr. Qu had also been a faculty member at the Microelectronics Department, Tianjin University (TJU) in China for six years before he came to the states. He also holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering degree from Tianjin University. At TJU, his research was concentrated on silicon devices and solid state sensors including photonic detectors.
Announcement: Currently there is a Research Assistant position at Dr. Qu's group. Candidate must have a background of semiconductor devices and technology. Clean room experience of microfabrication is desired and MEMS related skills are a plus. |
